Matthew's Scout Project - Family History - September 25, 2008

Matthew had to do a family history
project for Cub Scouts. He was to
choose one family member and tell
something interesting about them.
He was also to make a poster showing
how he was related. (Like a picture
family tree). So Matthew chose his
great-great grandfather; Frank Cottis.
I think Matt liked that he invented
Neapolitan ice cream. He decorated his posters with pictures of things typical from the area where his family came from. In this case from Italy. Matthew shows a picture of Frank Cottis and his wife Judith Ferrari ("Mom, were Ferrari cars invented yet?") Then he has a picture of the Cottis family children. In the middle
of this picture are the twin girls. One of them is Matthew's great grandma; Inez Delores Cottis-Haws. The next picture is a picture of Inez Haws when she was older. Then there
is a picture of Matt's grandma Jeanette Lee Haws - Miller. (this is my mommy). Then a picture of Matt's mom; Sherry Miller-Willis and finally a picture of Matthew. Matthew really enjoyed this because he got to "see" who his family is and where they came from. When we visualize things I think we all learn more.
